The Bedford, NH Fire Department has current opening(s) for the position of Firefighter – EMT, AEMT or Paramedic.

Shifts consist of 24 hours on with 72 hours off. 

Increasing staffing with 1 per shift to make four shifts of 9, made up with a Captain, Lieutenant and 7 firefighters.

 

2023 – Approved Union contract wage scales; 8 Step system.

EMT – $23.00-$28.00

AEMT – $24.00-$29.22

Paramedic – $26.00-$31.65.

 

 

Adjustments can be given for laterals or fulltime EMS experience.

Incentives given for certifications that are technical rescue certifications, driver operator pumps, etc.

 

Typical Duties: Respond to fire and medical emergencies. Drive and operate emergency apparatus. Inventory and maintain all apparatus and equipment in a constant state of readiness. Participate in fire prevention and risk reduction activities. Participate in regular training.

 

Minimum Qualifications: 18 years of age High school diploma or equivalent Current CPAT certification or eligible for lateral transfer Firefighter I certification (Paramedics without Firefighter I will be considered) NREMT EMT, Advance or Paramedic Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred) Qualified candidates will be expected to successfully pass the department, acrophobia test, oral board, and Chief’s interview to be considered eligible.
