PART-TIME FIRE INSPECTOR
 
The Town of Bow is seeking a dynamic professional to be part of its team.  The incumbent for this position will perform a variety of plan reviews, code analysis, and inspection duties for commercial, multi-family, and single-family residential structures within the town to ensure compliance with fire and safety codes to prevent destruction by fire and other life safety hazards.  Performs such duties as, but not limited to, responding to fire calls, emergency medical calls, and all other situations as they relate to the protection of life and property.
 
Usually works under the direct supervision of the Fire Chief.  The incumbent completes work following standard practices and previously established fire prevention policies and procedures.  The incumbent receives direction for daily activities and assignments from the Fire Chief and or the Fire Prevention Captain.  Position responsibilities require the examination, analysis, and evaluation of facts and circumstances surrounding the required duties for code enforcement and procedures as required by national laws, New Hampshire Rules, and Town ordinances. 
 
Minimum Qualifications to Apply Include:
 
·      High School Diploma or Equivalent.
·      Certified NFPA Fire Inspector I (NFPA Fire Inspector II and Fire Plan Examiner Preferred)
·      Experience in fire codes, inspection, sprinkler systems, construction, code enforcement, or building fields.
·      Pro-Board NH Firefighter II or Equivalent
·      NH Licensed at the EMT level (AEMT or Paramedic preferred).
·      Current American Heart Association (or comparable) CPR Provider.
·      A Valid NH Driver’s License (CDL-Preferred).
·      Highly motivated
 
Applicants must pass a resume review, an oral board interview, an extensive background investigation, and an NFPA 1582 medical examination.
 
Successful completion of a physical agility test and NFPA 1582 medical examination every two years will be a condition of continued employment.
 
This position becomes available on July 1, 2023.  This is an exempt part-time position averaging 16 hours per week.  Pay Grade 21, $32.04/hr.  The deadline to receive the resume and cover letter is June 9, 2023.
