Per-Diem EMT/AEMT/Paramedics Needed

The Town of Candia Fire Department is currently accepting applications for per diem and on call EMS providers. We are looking for highly motivated individuals who demonstrate commitment to the community, performing emergency medical care, firefighting operations, and other related duties as required. The position is responsible for paramedic-level Emergency Medical Service (transport services) to the Town of Candia.

Shift duties include response to all medical emergencies and fire incidents within the Town of Candia and requests for ambulance mutual aid. Duties also include general station maintenance and upkeep, ambulance inventory and maintenance to keep in constant state of readiness. Additional duties include fire prevention and fire suppression, if applicable, based on fire certifications.

Minimum qualifications for applicants are as follows:

·       18 years of age

·       High school diploma or GED

·       Nationally Registered EMT

·       Unrestricted NH provider license

·       Possession of a valid driver’s license issued by the State of NH

·       Pass a criminal and driving background check

Additional considerations and preference given to applicants with:

·       Paramedic certification, or currently participating in a paramedic program

·       Advanced EMT, or currently participating in an Advanced EMT course

·       Firefighter 1 or higher certifications through the NH Fire Academy

Compensation commensurate with certifications, starting at the following:

·       EMT $20/hour

·       AEMT $23/hour

·       Paramedic $26/hour

Schedule is on a per diem basis. Available shifts include 8am to 6pm, 7-days a week. Providers interested in set weekend schedules are encouraged to apply.  

Nightly 6pm to 6am, on-call EMS provider stipend of $100 per night, plus compensation for incidents. Not required to be at the station but must be within a response time of 12 minutes or less.
