****Kingston Fire Department is compiling a list of candidates for potential future hire at our department – this list will be maintained one year from the submittal date of this posting *****

 

The Kingston Fire Department is a combination career and on call department with additional coverage being supplemented with per diem members.  Kingston Firefighters work 24 hour shifts, one on, one off, one on, and five off.  Once hired you would be placed on a probation period of up to one year. 

 

The Town of Kingston is located in Rockingham County and is 20.9 square miles with a population of approximately 6800 residents.  The Kingston Fire Department responds to approximately 1300 calls for emergency service per year.   The Kingston Fire Department provides the following services: Fire Suppression, Emergency Medical Services, Vehicle Rescue, Emergency Management, Hazardous Materials Mitigation, Public Education, Fire Prevention, Commercial and Residential Building Inspections and Permitting Services, First Aid, CPR and Fire Extinguishment Training.

 

Kingston Fire and Rescue is looking to hire a motivated individual, whose duties will include, but are not limited to:  Fire Suppression, Fire Prevention and Emergency Medical Services, Performs Fire Prevention Inspections, Recording Findings and Issuing Notice of Violations, Performs General Maintenance on Fire Station Grounds, Equipment and Apparatus.

 

Minimum qualifications

–   18 years of age, high school diploma or equivalent

 –  Valid NH driver’s license CDL-B preferred,

 –  Firefighter 1 (obtain FF2 within a year),

–   Hazardous Materials Operations Level

 –  Paramedic/ Advanced EMT preferred – (EMT with AEMT within one year will be considered)

 –  Lateral Transfers are encouraged
