Starting salary $95,000 – $110,000 with an excellent benefits package.
The Town of Colchester is seeking a progressive leader to be its next Fire Chief, providing management and oversight of four full-time staff and upwards of 40 volunteer members, as well as partnering with a non-profit department within the Town. Requires application of qualitative and quantitative skills in general business management, resource allocation, written and oral communication, policy development, collaboration, diplomacy, planning and problem solving.
Experience including successful implementation of change in fire administration, technology and practices. Data-driven decision making, excellent written and verbal communication with internal and external stakeholders. Requires a collaborative and inclusive mindset to work across multiple teams and promote cohesion. Extensive experience with emergency management, strategic planning and a commitment to continuous improvement to provide the highest level of fire services given the available resources.
Successful applicants will hold a bachelor’s degree and at least 10 years of firefighting experience, with a minimum of three years of departmental leadership. Relevant life experience outside of fire service may be substituted for a degree.
