About This Course
This course is based on NFPA 1021: Standard for Fire Officer Professional Qualifications (Chapter 4). Upon successful completion, with prerequisites met, will lead to ProBoard Certification. The course identified the requirements necessary to perform the duties of a first line supervisor. This course introduces the student to the basic concepts of management and supervision by concentration on such topics as organizational structure, communications skills, human resource management, public relations, planning, emergency services delivery and safety.

- Fire & Emergency Services Instructor I
Those that meet all but the Fire and Emergency Services Instructor I prerequisite will be allowed to take the program, but not take the final exam. Once they certify in Instructor I, they will sign up for monthly testing for the Fire Officer I final exam. Upon successful completion of that exam, student will be ProBoard certified as Fire Officer I. All of this must be done within three years of taking Fire Officer I.
