The homeless problem continues to place extraordinary demands on fire departments, code enforcement, EMS, human service agencies, and emergency responders, especially related to encampment fires, unsafe temporary shelters, and the complex public health and humanitarian needs surrounding unsheltered and migrant-displaced populations.
Because of this heightened impact, NASFM is reaching out to a select group of Principal Members in the states experiencing the greatest homelessness challenges, either in major cities or statewide, to offer an in-person Best Practices class and Train-the-Trainer opportunity.
This training is provided at no cost, made possible through a FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Fire Prevention & Safety (FP&S) Award.Â
