DESCRIPTION:The Advanced EMT program is a 280 hour program that is the entry level of ALS for current EMT’s. Our Advanced EMT program is designed to provide the student with the foundation needed to function as an AEMT in the state of New Hampshire\, building upon the skills of an EMT-Basic provider. With the Advanced EMT Curriculum as its core\, our program adds the latest New Hampshire Transitional modules so our graduates will be fully prepared to practice with a New Hampshire EMS service. This course contains over 200 hours of advanced didactic and clinical education with expanded Anatomy\, Trauma and Pediatric pathophysiology modules. This course is once a week on Friday’s from 9am-5pm. There is also an online homework component to this course that is completed on Canvas. ​ The program consists of classroom lecture\, practical laboratory experiences\, a hospital clinical internship\, and a field EMS internship. Our program consists of 7 Modules:​ Module 1: Cardiology\, Airway and Pharmacology I Module 2: Cardiology\, Airway and Pharmacology II Module 3: Special Patient Demographics (Cradle to grave) Module 4: Medical and Trauma Emergencies I Module 5: Medical and Trauma Emergencies II Module 6: Capstone Module 7: Online Operations Module This Program will consist of 4 parts: ​ In class (392 Hours): The class will meet once a week for 8 hours for the duration of the course with major holidays and weather considered. Each morning will consist of a quiz followed by lecture. Every afternoon will involve some type of lab\, group activity\, simulation or role playing. NEEMSI students have access to the online journal Prehospital Emergency Care. ​ Lab (128 Hours): One day will be dedicated solely to labs every 3-4 weeks. Our labs will involve ALS skills\, and simulation in our breakout rooms. Our breakout rooms mimic 4 specific prehospital settings; an apartment living room\, an outdoor setting\, a nursing home and a pediatric room. We use iSimulate monitors and stethoscopes\, a Laerdal high fidelity mannequin\, multiple kinds of video laryngoscopes and an ambulance simulator. ​ Online (800 Hours): There will be an online portion for each module. Most of our operations topics will be compiled into an “Online Operations Module (160 Hours).” This module will open at the beginning of module 3 and close at the end of module 5\, giving our students 26 weeks total to complete the module. The student must pass the module with an 80% or higher to continue in the program. The operations module is meant to cater to the student’s schedule. ​ All topics covered in this operations module are compliant with National Emergency Medical Services Education Standards 2021. ​ Clinical (588 Hours): Our program has 250 hours in the hospital and 338 hours in the field. The projected hours per week for clinical time is 12 hours per week and will begin after competency is demonstrated in Module 1. DESCRIPTION:The Seacoast EMS Academy Consortium Paramedic Program holds a letter of review from the committee on Accreditation for the EMS professions (CoAEMSP). All students who enter the program and successfully complete the requirements will be allowed to sit for the NREMT ALS Exam. This application is for the September 30th Cohort. The cohort will meet every Wednesday 9am-5pm. Minimum total course hours: approximately 1100 In addition to the didactic portion of the program the student will be required to complete a minimum of: 240 hours of in hospital clinical time 240 hours of field time Successfully complete a final capstone internship to include 20 team leads 15 of which must be at the ALS level. Time varies. Students are required to attend a weekly 8hr class for a period of 12 months. Successfully maintain a course average of 80% for the duration of the program. Complete examinations covering 70 emergency and non-emergency medications. The course includes Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)\, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)\, State of New Hampshire Scope of Practice\, and Paramedic Interfacility Transfer (PIFT) education. In order to be considered for the Seacoast EMS Academy’s Paramedic Program\, you will be required to complete an application. Completing the application does not guarantee you admittance into the Paramedic Program. As part of the selection process\, you will participate in a written exam\, an oral board interview\, and multiple patient simulation scenarios to assess your foundational knowledge\, communication skills\, and clinical reasoning. You will be contacted prior to the application deadline to schedule your entrance test date. This program will prepare the student to make critical decisions in the best interest of the patient and to convey those decisions to both the receiving facility and within their documentation. We are a street-level program that will provide real-world knowledge that enhances the student’s ability to operate in the field from day one. This program will challenge the student in a supportive environment that promotes personal and professional growth. The Paramedic’s scope of practice includes invasive and pharmacological interventions to reduce the morbidity and mortality associated with acute out-of-hospital medical and traumatic emergencies. Emergency care is based on an advanced assessment and the formulation of a field impression. The Paramedic provides care designed to minimize secondary injury and provide comfort to the patient and family while transporting the patient to an appropriate health care facility. \nMust have a valid EMT or AEMT certification as well as a valid driver’s license.

The content of this curriculum is based on the IFSTA Fire Inspection and Code Enforcement\, 9th Edition textbook. There have been significant adjustments to the scope of responsibility for a Fire Inspector. Instructors of previous Inspector curricula should review the changes between NFPA 1031\, 2014 Edition and the newer NFPA 1030\, 2024 edition\, and adjust their lesson materials to align with this curriculum’s scope and sequence. \nProjects. The new Fire Inspector curriculum contains six major projects that students must complete before being eligible to take the certification exam.
