Course Description

This course prepares students to perform comprehensive fire and life safety inspections in accordance with NFPA 1030, Chapter 7. Through classroom instruction and practical application, students learn to interpret and apply fire codes, assess building construction, and fire protection systems, evaluate means of egress, review plans, investigate complaints, and identify hazardous materials and conditions. The program emphasizes legal responsibilities, documentation, enforcement, and professional competency, equipping future inspectors to support code compliance, reduce risk, and promote public safety within their communities.
