Course Description

This is a grant-funded 40 hour curriculum for emergency responders. NH Dept. of Safety and NAMI NH co-sponsor this presentation which teaches de-escalation of a community member in crisis. This program gives the attendee a greater understanding of various mental health conditions through presentations of lived experience as well as subject matter experts. This program is both didactic and role play, hands-on scenarios. We also discuss responder self-care and peer support. The attendee ends the program with the tools necessary to increase response safety as well as an increased knowledge of resources to better serve our community.

The New Hampshire Division of Fire Standards and Training & EMS hosts and organizes many seminar opportunities throughout the calendar year. The topics, schedule and length of the programs can vary.  Often the seminar is run in conjunction with another organization. This adds a new level of instruction to our course catalog that enables fire and EMS personnel alike to delve into new, interesting and topical subjects relevant to the first responders in our state.  Please take a moment and view any of the seminar or conference training opportunities listed below.
