Course Description

The Driver/Operator-All Vehicles course is designed to provide firefighters and emergency medical services providers with the fundamental knowledge and skills required to drive and operate modern emergency vehicles safely and efficiently. Departments sending their students should plan to provide one fire apparatus (26,000 pounds GVWR or more) for every 2 students for the last day of class (driving day).

The Driver/Operator – All Vehicle with TIMS class is designed to provide students, both EMS providers and firefighters, with the basic knowledge and skills required to safely drive emergency vehicles. A combination of classroom and hands-on skills drills cover basic vehicle terminology, design and construction, basic driving skills, emergency driving considerations and skills, readiness checks, and maintenance. Additionally, the class includes the National Traffic Incident Management Responder Training Program.
