Course Description

Upon completion of this course, you will have met the professional qualifications standards outlined in chapter 5 of National Fire Protection Association® (NFPA®) 1001, 2019 edition. You will be able to determine the need for command, assume, organize, and transfer command within an incident management system, function within an assigned role and perform assigned duties in conformance with applicable standards, regulations, and procedures, and understand the role of a firefighter within the organization. As a Firefighter II you will have more latitude to make decisions on how you will accomplish tasks on the fire ground. You will find a list of the relevant Job Performance Requirements (JPR) in each course module. If you successfully complete the certification process, you will receive a ProBoard® Firefighter II certification.

This program is the second level of standard-based certification available to firefighters, following the training provided in Firefighter I. Course materials provide information on additional topics and allow the firefighter to participate in certification testing to obtain Firefighter II certification based on NFPA 1001, 2019 edition ProBoard Certified
