🔥 New Course Offering: First Responder Inspector (Former Fire Inspector I)
Overview:
This course prepares students to inspect existing occupancies, determine compliance and need for permitting, and participate in legal proceedings as a fact witness. The course covers federal regulations, state statutes, rules, and fire codes, and local ordinances and policies. By the end of the course, students will demonstrate the ability to read plans, reference and apply code, and conduct inspections to identify and communicate violations in oral or written format. This course is designed for people with professional or legal requirements to perform fire inspection activities within New Hampshire.
What You’ll Learn:
Introduction to fire safety inspection principles
Application of specific codes and standards
Conducting inspections in accordance with AHJ directives
Recognizing and reporting fire hazards
Prerequisites:
Hazardous Materials Awareness, fulfilled by one of the following:
NFPA 470 Hazardous Materials Awareness Level Responder
AWR160 WMD/Terrorism Awareness for Emergency Responders
Any course meeting the requirements of 29 CFR 1910.120(q)(6)(i)
High School Diploma or Equivalent

Day 5 – Exam Day, Thursday, 11/12/2026
- 09:00- end: Written Cognitive Exam
