Course Description

This course is designed for people with a professional or statutory need to perform fire inspection activities within New Hampshire municipalities. You do not need to have any experience with firefighting or the fire service to succeed in this program. This course will teach you to inspect existing occupancies, determine compliance and need for permitting, and participate in legal proceedings as a fact witness in accordance with federal regulations, state statutes and rules, and local ordinances and policies. During this course you will demonstrate the ability to read plans, reference and apply code, and conduct inspections to identify and communicate violations in oral or written format.

Prerequisites

To ensure the safety and effectiveness of all participants, prerequisites must be met at the time of registration unless otherwise specified in the course description. These prerequisites are carefully chosen to match the skills, knowledge, and certifications necessary for successful participation in the course. If a valid certification is required (e.g., CPR certification), it must remain current throughout the course. Participants are responsible for renewing any mandatory certifications that may expire during the course period. Failure to meet the stated prerequisites may result in ineligibility to attend the course.

Prerequisites: NFPA 470 Hazardous Materials Awareness, fulfilled by one of the following:, AWR160 WMD/Terrorism Awareness for Emergency Responders, Any course meeting the requirements of 29 CFR 1910.120(q)(6)(i)
