The Lakes Region Community College (LRCC) Paramedic program is a 37-credit certificate program designed for current EMS providers seeking to further their education. The program is scheduled on a 52-week, four-semester, full-time college format. The course offerings will be a combination of didactic/lecture, laboratory, hospital and other medical environment clinical, and field experiences. Successful completion of the program will prepare students as entry-level Paramedics, eligible to sit for the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Paramedic certification exam. The curriculum complies with the New Hampshire Department of Safety Division of Fire Standards and Training & Emergency Medical Services and National Emergency Medical Service Education Standards. Students should note that successful completion of each semester is required to move on to the next semester. The program was designed to meet the standards of the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). Students will attend a minimum number of total program hours broken down as follows: • Didactic & Lab: 400 hours • Hospital: 224 hours • Field: 312 hours
