This training will provide an overview of adult learning principles and introduce Project Firstline resources to assist EMS professionals in meeting the training needs of their staff. The training will provide a simplified approach to infection prevention and share new ideas for training and education of EMS professionals.
Objectives:
•Describe adult learning theories and principles.
• Demonstrate the use of Project Firstline resources to teach others:
• What germs are, where they live, and how they spread
• How to identify precautions that can be taken to reduce the spread of infection
•Provide visibility of the Healthcare Associated Infection Program as a resource for ongoing Infection Prevention training and guidance
•Provide the partnering Department or Company with Infection Prevention resources such as Glow Germ Kits, Fit Testing Kits, and possible UV Sanitation Boxes
•Utilize the Department or Company as a resource to understand the environment and practicability of resources and guidance
•Utilize the Department or Company to assist with the final Infection Control Assessment and Response tool that will be available for statewide usage
