New Hampshire’s trauma system is both inclusive and voluntary. It’s inclusive in that all hospitals should have the capability to stabilize injured patients and send them to facilities able to provide a definitive level of care. It’s also voluntary, meaning that hospitals with resources to provide a higher level of care choose to do this
This course looks at the components of a trauma system, the EMS role, and the specifics of the trauma system that exists in the Granite State. It also includes information about trauma triage and how that ties into EMS transport decisions as they relate to this system.
