Full Time Firefighter/EMT The Town of Newington, NH Fire Department has immediate openings and is accepting applications for Firefighter/EMT. This position is responsible for providing fire suppression, emergency medical services (transport service), and fire prevention to the Town of Newington.

Minimum requirements to apply include:

–         18 years of age

–         High School Diploma or Equivalent (related college degree preferred)

–         National Registry EMT Certification (AEMT or Paramedic preferred. Basic EMTs will be required to get their AEMT within 1-year)

–         IFSAC/Pro-Board Firefighter II Certification

–         Applicants must comply with New Hampshire Fire Standards and Training Commission’s Rule Part 700 with successful completion of the Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) or qualified for lateral transfer per NH Admin Rule Part 703

–         A valid State Driver’s License (CDL-Preferred). Starting salary range is $25.21-$28.72 based on experience and qualifications. 42 hour work week (1-on, 2-off, 1-on, 4-off) Benefit package includes Health and Dental insurance, vacation time, sick time, holiday pay, State of New Hampshire Group II retirement, Health insurance buyout option available.

If selected, the candidate must pass an oral board interview, assessment center, Chief’s interview, background check (to include motor vehicle and criminal record), NFPA 1582 physical and 40-hour staff orientation. The Candidate must successfully pass a 12-month Probationary period.
