The Town of Merrimack Fire & Rescue Department is seeking qualified Firefighter EMTs and Firefighter AEMTs. This posting is to fill anticipated openings and/or create an eligibility list for future openings.
Firefighter EMT
Hire: $24.56 6-Months: $26.71 12-months: $28.52
Firefighter AEMT
Hire: $25.20 6-Months: $27.35 12-Months: $29.15
Top of Firefighter wage scale at 12 Months. Hourly incentives are paid, and tuition reimbursement is available, after successful probationary period. Full list of incentives are listed in the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Eligible for Master Firefighter/EMT or AEMT within 3-5 years and passing test –
Master FF/ EMT – $29.41 – $32.56
Master FF/AEMT – $30.05 – $33.19
*3% increase on wages shown effective 7/1/2025 —- 100% employer paid family health insurance premiums
The Department also currently has program that can pay for and assists with attaining Paramedic Certification after 1 year of service for qualified employees.
