Course Description

The Academy’s Fire Officer II course is the second level of leadership training for those who manage fire service personnel and organizations. Following up on the initial instruction provided in Fire Officer I, this course will provide students with the administration, budget, and personnel skills essential for the managing officer.

This course will have one in person session. The class will be split in half for this, and those dates will be May 7th and May 8th. You only will attend one of those days.

The course schedule is below.

This course is the second level of certification for fire service leaders who work at the at the supervisory/managerial level within a fire department. As a student, you will learn the principles of human resources management, community and government relations, department administration, inspection and investigation, emergency services delivery, and integrating health and safety into daily operations.
