Description: In this course, the participant will review statistical data about the incidence of trauma in the pediatric population. The presenter will talk about the challenges with pediatric trauma and specifically transport in the pediatric population. Objectives: At the conclusion of this lecture the participant shall: 1. Be able to define trauma. 2. Be able to define a pediatric patient consistent with the State of New Hampshire Protocols. 3. Identify major physiologic differences between adults and pediatrics. 4. Identify special treatment and transport needs in the pediatric population. 5. Identify specific injury patterns in the pediatric population. |
