The Town of Hooksett, NH is currently accepting applications for the position of full-time Firefighter / Paramedic or AEMT. This is a 42 hour/week position responsible for fire suppression, fire prevention and education, advanced life support emergency medical care, rescue and other emergency and non-emergency duties.
The Hooksett Fire Rescue Department is a suburban and progressive fire, rescue and EMS service located between the cities of Concord and Manchester, NH. Shift personnel work a desirable 24 hour shifts on a (1) on, (1) off, (1) on, (5) off rotation. Our department staffs two (2) stations and we run approximately 2700 calls per year. This position has many benefits and incentives including yearly educational allowance, generous holiday and incentive pay and extensive medical/dental/Rx care plans. 2 of the 3 medical plans are covered by the employer at 100%. Potential sign-on bonus exists for those that qualify.
Minimum qualifications for this position include NH or Pro-Board Firefighter 2, National Registry Paramedic or AEMT (or enrolled in an AEMT program), valid NH driver’s license and high school diploma (or GED). Candidates must obtain a CDL-B license and AEMT within one (1) year to maintain employment. Candidates must have a valid CPAT certificate or meet Part 703 of the NH State Fire Code. Lateral transfers, Paramedics and those enrolled in a Paramedic program are encouraged to apply.
