Informational Bulletin
In light of receiving new and rapidly developing information from DHHS and Public Health Officials, and confirmation that NH is now experiencing community-wide spread of Covid 19, we are changing our training operations.
As you are aware, Governor Sununu declared a state of emergency, therefore, effective immediately and for the next several weeks, all in-person fire, rescue and EMS training classes, daily and monthly testing and prop delivery, will be postponed. Select programs in their final days will be completed; program coordinators will contact students with more information.
Should you have emergency training needs to support your response, please contact your field Captain or the main number to request it.
At the end of this time period, staff of FSTEMS, along with consultation of DOS leadership, will re-evaluate the status of the pandemic here in NH, and will issue further guidance and information at that time.
We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause students and response agencies. We want to ensure you that the health and safety of our students, instructors and staff, along with other stakeholder groups, are of paramount importance to us. In addition, we do not want to increase any risk to our first responders, in hope of doing our part in helping to maintain an emergency response workforce during this pandemic.
We hope that you will understand that these decisions were not made lightly and were made based on the current information and facts from NH Public Health and in consultation with the NH Department of Safety Commissioner’s office.
This is a quickly evolving and dynamic public health issue that we will continue to monitor and make future decisions based on best practice as advised by Public Health as well as CDC guidelines.
This document will be followed by an FAQ page shortly.
We wish you safety, health and wellness as you respond to your communities’ needs.
Yours in safety,
Director Deborah Pendergast
