The Town of Rindge is accepting applications for the position of Per-Diem Firefighter/EMT/ AEMT. Shifts are flexible based on the employees availability, are scheduled as needed and run 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM Monday through Friday. Position responsibilities include but are not limited to, response to fire & medical related emergencies, inspection and maintenance of department vehicles and equipment, station and equipment maintenance, fire prevention activities and inspections.
This is the perfect opportunity for those already holding a full time firefighter/EMT/AEMT position elsewhere who are looking for additional shift work, as well as newer firefighter/EMT/AEMT’s who looking for additional on the job experience and training.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
- 18 years of age
- High School diploma or GED
- Valid motor vehicle driver’s license
- Nationally Registered and NH Licensed Emergency Medical Technician
- Pro-Board certified Firefighter I certification
- At least one (1) year of part/full time OR two (2) years of volunteer/on-call experience as a nationally certified firefighter/EMT in the field of emergency services.
- Pass a pre-employment criminal and driving background check
- Pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
Additional Preferred but not Required Qualifications:
- Class B or A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with tank endorsement.
- Nationally Registered and NH Licensed Advanced EMT
- Pro-Board Firefighter II certification

About the Department:
Rindge Fire Department is an all-hazards department operating out of two (2) fire stations with one (1) full-time Chief/Emergency Management Director/Building Inspector, one (1) full time EMS Deputy Chief/Building Department Administrator, (1) full time Captain of Fire Prevention, one (1) part-time AEMT/Reporting Clerk and twenty (20) on-call members. Our fleet consists of two (2) class “A” engines, one (1) ALS non-transport rescue, one (1) 2100 gallon tanker, one (1) LDH hose reel pumper, one (1) brush truck, one (1) command vehicle, one (1) utility vehicle, one (1) boat and additional traffic control, haz-mat and ice/water rescue response trailers.
Rindge Fire Department responds to over 900 calls for service annually and serves a growing population of 6,200+ residents. We experience an increased daytime population traveling through town on busy US Route 202 and NH Route 119 and daytime workforce at the many commercial properties in town. Rindge is also home to Franklin Pierce University with a combined additional student and faculty population of over 2,000.
