Rope Rescue – Operations is an intense five-day program featuring a combination of classroom and practical evolutions combined with real life scenarios. This course will provide the knowledge and practical skills necessary to safely and legally mitigate a rescue involving rope work whether low or high angle. Students will be challenged both mentally and physically to complete the objectives and scenarios. Designed to meet objectives of NFPA 1006 and/or 1670, Chapter 6, to the Operations Level. Topics include team and rescuer safety, personal protective equipment, rope rescue fundamentals, equipment selection, inspection and maintenance, knots, anchors, patient packaging, mechanical advantage systems, belaying, rappelling, raising and lowering systems, system safety factors, litter rigging and tending, pick-offs, low-angle and high-angle rescue techniques, and stretcher evacuations.

Applicants will be notified within two business days with the status of their applications. Courses where pricing is listed as "grant funded" covers course tuition only. Overtime/backfill eligible courses will be specifically noted.
