New Hampshire Patient Care Protocols v9

2024 State of New Hampshire Patient Care Protocols Version 9.0 Official Rollout

The Division of Fire Standards and Training & Emergency Medical Services is pleased to announce the upcoming release of the 2024 State of New Hampshire Patient Care Protocols Version 9.0.

On 21 March 2024, both the New Hampshire Medical Control Board and the NH Medical and Trauma Services Coordinating Board unanimously and officially approved Version 9.0. Subsequently, on 28 March 2024, Department of Safety Commissioner Robert Quinn approved these protocols for adoption effective statewide on 1 June 2024.

ATTENTION

Licensed EMS units and affiliated licensed EMS providers shall begin using the 2024 State of New Hampshire Patient Care Protocols Version 9.0 beginning on 1 June 2024. Licensed EMS units and affiliated licensed EMS providers must continue to operate using the current Version 8.2 during this transition phase.

Implementation of the protocol transition is a responsibility of the providers’ EMS Unit. This will include,

  • Additional training, education, and skills verification for new protocols.
  • Logistical support to include the procurement of additional equipment needed to apply the new protocols.
  • Internal unit verification that all providers have undergone the official rollout by the effective date of 1 June 2024.

The protocol rollout was created to educate the provider of the changes between Version 8.2 and Version 9.0 of New Hampshire Patient Care Protocols; and not act as the sole mechanism to teach providers on new skills, processes, and medications. Consult with your unit leader to determine the process you must undergo to familiarize yourself with the new protocols.

The new protocols may be found online on the Bureau of EMS website.
