The Emergency Management Institute (EMI) is under the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and was created first as the Civil Defense Staff College in 1951. EMI shares a campus with the National Fire Academy, and the two organizations collaborate regularly on curricula. EMI delivers emergency management training to state, territorial, tribal officials, volunteer organizations, FEMA’s disaster workforce, and the public and private sectors. All curricula has the main goal of training these organizations to help minimize the impact of disasters and emergencies nationwide. With multi-discipline audiences, training that includes law enforcement, fire and emergency services is of paramount importance. The NHFA along with the NH Homeland Security host many EMI classes every year. Please take a moment to view all of our current course listings below.
