Fire & Emergency Medical Services Instructor III

Course Description

This course is intended for the Instructor II who is ready to assume a leadership role by moving into the upper management level of his/her department and wants to develop the knowledge and ability to develop comprehensive training curricula and programs for use by single or multiple organizations; conduct organizational need analysis; and develop training goals and implementations strategies.

Course delivery is 100% online with an in-person written exam. This is a fast-paced intensive course in which students will meet together during two scheduled virtual classroom sessions as well as a virtual practical evaluation. During the duration of this course students will be required to do extensive independent reading and complete independent work to create a comprehensive training program. Regular internet access is required to be able to complete this course. After completing the course the student will have met the sections for Fire Instructor II in the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1041, 2019 edition, professional qualifications standard. Students who successfully complete the certification process will be ProBoard certified as Instructor III.

  • Students are required to wear business attire for each class. Male students Shirt and tie with appropriate pants and shoes. Female students suitable business attire such as blouse with skirt or slacks Suits and department uniform shirt with tie and formal pants are also acceptable. Students may not wear jeans, shorts, t-shirts, sweatpants, sweatshirts, or sneakers to class.
