Full Time Firefighter / EMT/Fire Prevention Position

 

The Farmington Fire & Rescue Department is seeking qualified applicants to fill a full-time opening for the position of Firefighter/EMT/Fire Inspector. The Fire Prevention component is a collateral assigned duty by the Fire Chief. This part focuses on all aspects of fire inspections and assists the state fire Marshal Office with fire investigations, including fire code plans review, permitting, fire prevention, and public education programs.  This position ensures compliance with all applicable state and local fire regulations including the current adopted NFPA 1 Fire Code and NFPA 101 Life Safety Code and Town of Farmington adopted codes and ordinances.  This position is required to work collaboratively with town stakeholders and regional and state partners toward the goal of public safety and property protection!

Come be part of a growing and progressive fire department that averages close to 1400 calls for service annually. The Fire Department is a combination department with a full-time Fire Chief, 4 full-time Firefighters, 25 per diem Firefighters in addition to the new full-time position. The Fire Department protects nearly 7000 residents within a 40 sq mile area. The department is willing to train the right person.

Minimum Qualifications:

-18 years of age

-High School Diploma or GED equivalent

-Current CPAT Certification or lateral transfer per NH Admin Rule: Fire 703.01

-Pro-Board Firefighter I. Must obtain Firefighter II within the first year.

-Nationally Registered EMT (Advance EMT Preferred)

– Certified by New Hampshire Fire Standards and Training (NHFST) and/or NFPA 1031 compliant Pro Board Fire Inspector I and II.

 

-Valid Driver’s License

Starting salary range is $ 20.50 – $ 23.35 based on experience and qualifications.

Benefit package includes Health and Dental insurance, vacation, holiday pay, and State of New Hampshire Group II retirement.

48-hour work week. (24 Hour Shifts) Set schedule.

If selected the Candidate must pass a background check (to include motor vehicle & criminal record), NFPA 1582, drug screening, & a 6-month Probationary period.
