Division of Fire Standards and Training & EMS
The Division of Fire Standards and Training & Emergency Medical Services is looking for a highly motivated individual to coordinate the Division’s effort in the Fire Officer I and II training programs. This individual would be responsible for scheduling and administering the deliveries of these programs. This position is not responsible for the design and oversight of the actual curriculum.
- Prepares schedules and hires instructors and subject matter experts to assure effective program delivery.
- Coordinates the logistics and scheduling of all aspects of the delivery of the program
- Reports to the Captain as to the delivery of assigned responsibilities and the effectiveness of training programs. Evaluates and recommends changes in the delivery to the Captain responsible for the curriculum.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
Candidates must be certified to the Fire Officer II level. Candidates must be certified in Fire and Emergency Services Instructor I, certification in Fire and Emergency Services Instructor III is required by the end of first year. Candidates must have no less than 5 years of experience as a Company Officer. Candidates must also have critical thinking abilities, the ability to mentor instructors and students and possess and demonstrate strong communication skills.
